Power Production

Mekong Energy Phu My 2-2
“Phu My 2.2 is a new generation gas combined cycle with 9FAe class F technology gas turbined from General Electric able to generate 715 MW with an efficiency of roughly 56%. MECO, as owner and operator of the plant, is staffed with sixty-five Vietnamese personnel to carry out the operation and maintenance of the Phu My 2-2 power plant.
Phu My 2-2 is also a project that closely follows the principles of sustainable development. The power plant is deeply integrated in the Vietnamese environment, and respects the cultural and dynamic growth of the country. Thanks to high environmental friendliness, the plant also respects the local living standards. Safety and sustainable development are the priority of the Management and shared between all employees.”
GP MaTe was selected by EDF and TEPCO to provide for their maintenance and materials control functions on site at Phu My 2-2.

Nam Theun 2 Hydroelectric Project
“NT2 is the largest foreign investment to date in the hydropower sector in the Lao PDR. It is a Build-Operate-Transfer project, under which NTPC will operate the facility for 25 years, and then transfer it to the Lao Government.
The project consists of 21 construction sites, covering three different provinces: Bolikhamxay (main dam), Khammouane (power station) and Savannakhet (transmission line).
NT2 will sell a substantial part of its electricity (995MW) to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) on the basis of a long-term Power Purchase Agreement signed in 2003. It will supply 75 MW of generating capacity and electrical energy to Electricité du Laos (EDL).”
GP MaTe was implemented at NT2 during the construction phase of the power plant. This enabled the operating company to collect and load all the data, plan all maintenance activities, and procure required MRO spares prior to start-up. By taking this approach, NT2 was able to obtain equipment, maintenance procedures and recommended parts information from vendors as part of the construction process, saving considerable time and effort.

Pratt Whitney Power Systems
“Pratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS) has applied the best technology of proven Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines to a line of land-based gas turbines that power everything from small businesses to small cities. Ranging in power from 25 MW to 60 MW, PWPS’ industrial gas turbines offer extremely low life-cycle costs while providing optimal operating flexibility. The transportable FT8® SWIFTPAC® can give you quick, reliable power in less than 30 days and the FT8® MOBILEPAC® can provide power in less than one day. Larger installations up to 60 MW are possible with the FT8® SWIFTPAC Combined Cycle.”
Pratt Whitney has selected GP MaTe as their solution of choice to support their worldwide Long Term Support Contract services to their customers. MATE PCS (formerly GP Solutions) is hosting the GP MaTe system to support onsite Pratt Whitney technicians and customers in managing the maintenance programs for these power generation packages. GP MaTe is currently being rolled out in China and Argentina.
